I’ve rebranded my blog.
Again
Once upon a time, it was the Diary of a Turn of the Century Writer. Story factory happened because I read that I needed to write short stories to be a fiction writer. Thing is, I don’t particularly like to read short stories. I like novels, but I really read a lot of memoirs. So, I could write memoir, but my life is too boring for memoir. I tried “rebranding” myself as a science writer. But… while I really appreciate science, and it’s my day job, I am not a scientist.
I do, like most humans, eat. And I’ve been cooking my way through Marcella Hazan’s Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking to explore my relationship with food and my family of origin.

Seth Godin, in The Practice, extols the idea of shipping daily. So, apologies to anyone who subscribed to read really bad short fiction. You may prefer to unsubscribe. But here, I’m talking and writing about dinner, the people who cook it, and the people who eat it.
Who am I to write about dinner? Well, I worked 3 years in a major university dining hall, dinner shift. Summer camp cook and assistant manager? Check. I’ve cooked dinners for drum and bugle corps in converted semi truck. I’ve waited tables at several restaurants. And not only have I been eating dinner fairly regularly throughout my life. I’ve made sure my husband and kids did as well.
So welcome to dinnerstories.blog Pull up a chair if you dare. Dinner’s ready, and we’ve got stories.
You wouldn’t believe what happened…
